TO CREATE INTERACTIVE AND ENGAGING EDUCATION OPPPORTUNITIES AND LIFELONG LEARNING FOR STUDENTS, COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND VISITORS, USING THE UNIQUE RESOURCES OF BIG BEAR VALLEY.
OUR VISION
Protect – Engage – Enjoy – Learn
The Big Bear Valley Education Corporation (Ed Trust), formed as a 501(c)3 public benefit corporation with a working Board of Directors, who serve as the voting body. In addition to the Board, a unique Advisory Board representing a cross-section of the community will meet periodically to provide valuable input on the Ed Trust’s functions. Specific Ed Trust projects will be organized into efficient Task Forces that will each include it’s own Project Manager, Volunteers, Training Program, Financial and Communication with Board oversight.
With the generous donations of time, money and effort from members of Big Bear Valley, Ed Trust has successfully implemented several major initiatives. Ed Trust has placed much needed trained and screened volunteers into classrooms across Big Bear Valley. Fund raising efforts have supported special programs in support of our G.A.T.E. students, a pilot STEM program at Big Bear Elementary School and STEM curriculum was developed teaching about Big Bear’s Pebble Plain. In addition, working with High School teachers, Ed Trust has developed a program of career opportunities for High School classes. Business partnerships have been developed that demonstrate opportunities in STEM careers.
The Ed Trust formed a subcommittee of interested parties to establish an over 700 acre Pebble Plains Conservancy and Wildland Park located in the heart of Big Bear Valley.
